Our take
I love the VMX1000 for its versatility. The 7 channels give me plenty of room for multiple decks and mics, and the 3-band EQ with kill switches is great for creative cuts. The BPM counter is handy, and talkover is useful for mic work. Being rack-mountable saves desk space. The sound is clean analog, and the build is solid. At $130, it's a fantastic value for a mixer with this many features. My only wish is for a USB port, but for analog mixing, it's excellent.
